Vendanges 2015 au Château Rouquette sur Mer / The 2015 harvest of the Château Rouquette sur Mer :
Petit bijou en amphithéâtre perché sur l'extrémité méridionale des falaises de la Clape surplombant la mer, Rouquette a bénéficié tout l'été des indéniables avantages de son pédoclimat : brises marines rafraîchissantes et rosée du matin, nappe phréatique bien approvisionnée par les précipitations d'automne et de printemps, températures clémentes de 30 à 35°C cet été.
Les vendanges ont commencé le 4 septembre sur de magnifiques Muscats. Roussanne et Bourboulenc sont impressionnants de qualité et généreux en quantité. La vendange en rouge a démarré le 11 septembre avec les premiers raisins de Grenache à l'état sanitaire irréprochable. Les premières Syrah ont été ramassées le 16 septembre.
Epargné par les épisodes cévenols, le domaine n'a eu qu'à essuyer une petite pluie bénéfique de 20 mm la première semaine de septembre, sans conséquence sur le calendrier des vendanges. Le millésime s'annonce très qualitatif, avec des précurseurs d'arômes confiturés, des tanins très mûrs sans astringence aucune, un potentiel degré élevé.
The estate is a litle jewel forming an amphitheatre on the top of the La Clape cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean sea. It therefore benefitted throughout the summer of the undeniable advantages of its micro cimatic conditions : refreshing sea breeze and morning dew, high groundwater level thanks to the Autumn and Spring rainfalls , milder summer temperatures not exceeding 30 to 35°C.
The harvest started on September 4, with the superb Muscat grapes. Roussanne and Bourboulenc varietals are of impressive quality and generous in volume. The harvest of red grapes started with the very healthy Grenache grapes on september 11. The first Syrah grapes were harvested on September 16, 2015.
Out of the Cevenols storms' path, the estate benefitted of a small and welcome rainfall not exceeding 20 mm during the first week of September, wich didn't harm the harvest schedule.
The vintage is expected to be of very high quality, with rich and mature aromas, ripe and smooth tannins, and a high alcoholic potential.
